Pilot build: every bid shown is a sample, not a real City bid. Firms named "Sample" are made up.

Terms of Service

Last updated Oct 29, 2026

These terms cover your use of SBE Ready ("we", "us"), including this website, our text and email alerts, and any calls you have agreed to. By creating a profile or using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use SBE Ready.

1. What SBE Ready is, and isn't

SBE Ready is an information and matching service. We find public bid notices, summarize them, and connect certified small subcontractors with prime contractors who are bidding the work.

We are not a legal or compliance advisor. Nothing on SBE Ready is legal, tax, bonding, insurance or compliance advice. Primes remain responsible for meeting the SBE requirements of every bid they submit, and subs remain responsible for their own certification and filings.

We are not part of the City of Milwaukee or any other government agency, and no agency endorses us. Only the agency that issues a bid can say what its requirements are.

2. Bid information can be wrong, so check the original

We read public bid documents and pull out details like the SBE goal, scope, due date and pre-bid meeting. A person reviews deadlines and SBE percentages before we send an alert, but mistakes can still happen, and agencies change bids through addenda. Every bid we show links to its source document. Always confirm dates, requirements and scope in the official bid documents before you rely on them.

We can't promise to find every bid. Some work is only posted in paid plan rooms or private channels we don't cover.

3. Certification checks

We check certifications against public agency records, such as the City of Milwaukee's certified SBE directory, and show the date we last checked. That is a convenience, not an official verification. The certifying agency's records are the only official source, and certification must be valid when bids open.

4. No guarantee of work

We don't guarantee that any sub will win a bid, that any prime will choose any sub, or that any bid will be awarded. Results depend on the agency, the primes and the subs, not on us.

5. Quotes: the sub always sets the price

When a sub is interested in a bid, we can help draft a quote from what the sub tells us. The sub sets every price and must approve a quote before we share it with any prime. Quotes are offers between the sub and the prime. We are not a party to any contract between them.

6. We never file for you

We prepare drafts, such as Form A drafts and outreach logs, for you to review. We never submit anything to the City or any agency on anyone's behalf, and we will never ask for your passwords to government systems. Primes and subs review, sign and file their own paperwork.

7. Texts, emails and calls

We only text, email or call you about bids if you opted in, and you can stop at any time. Text alerts follow our Text Message Terms. Calls from our AI assistant happen only if you separately agreed to AI calls, and each call says up front that it is an AI assistant from SBE Ready.

8. Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information about your company, trades and certification, and keep it up to date.
  • Don't claim a certification you don't hold or sign up as another business.
  • Only use contact details and quotes you see here for the bid they relate to, and don't resell them.
  • Don't scrape, overload or try to break into the site.

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

9. Fees

SBE Ready is free during the pilot. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you the price before you are charged anything, and you won't be moved to a paid plan without agreeing to it.

10. Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

11. Disclaimers and limits on liability

SBE Ready is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that information on it is complete or current. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost bids, lost profits or indirect damages, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you haven't paid us anything.

12. Ending your account

You can stop using SBE Ready and ask us to close your profile at any time. We may end or suspend the service or your access, with notice where we reasonably can.

13. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by Wisconsin law, and disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.

14. Contact

Use our contact and problem report form.
