Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SBE Ready collects, why, and who sees it. The short version: we use your information to match you with public bids and the contractors bidding them, we share your quotes only when you approve them, and we never sell your information.

What we collect from you

Company details: company name, contact name, mobile phone, email.
Work details: trades, service area, crew size, your largest past subcontract, and your certification number.
Consent records: for each channel (text, email, AI calls), whether you agreed, when, and the exact wording you saw. We keep these to prove consent and to honor opt-outs.
Quotes you approve, and records of contact between primes and subs about a bid.
Problem reports you send us, and an email address if you include one.
Basic technical data our hosting provider logs automatically, such as IP address and browser type.

What we collect from public sources

We use public records: bid notices and documents posted by public agencies, and public certification directories such as the City of Milwaukee's certified SBE list. Certified firms listed there may appear in our registry before they sign up. We don't text or call anyone from those lists unless they opt in.

How we use it

To match subs with bids that fit their trade, area and capacity.
To send the alerts and reminders you opted in to.
To show primes which certified subs fit and are interested in their bid.
To check certification status against public records.
To fix problems, improve the service, and keep it secure.

Who sees it

Primes bidding a job can see the certified subs that fit it: company name, trades, service area, crew size and certification dates. They see a sub's quote only after the sub approves sharing it.

Service providers process data for us under contract, only to run SBE Ready: website hosting and database (such as Vercel and Supabase), text and email delivery (such as Twilio), and AI tools that help read bid documents and draft quotes (such as Anthropic). They may not use your data for their own purposes.

The law: we may share information if the law requires it or to protect people from harm.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share your mobile number or text message consent with anyone for their marketing.

Texts and calls

We text and call only people who opted in, and only about what they agreed to. Reply STOP to any text, or say stop on any call, to opt out. See our Text Message Terms.

How long we keep it

We keep your profile while you use SBE Ready. If you ask us to delete it, we remove your profile and quotes, except for records we need to keep: consent and opt-out records (kept for at least four years so we can show we honored your choices) and records tied to a bid's Good Faith Effort log that a prime may need.

Your choices

Opt out of texts, emails or calls at any time.
Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
If your firm appears from a public directory and you don't want to be listed, tell us.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards such as encrypted connections and limited admin access. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send us anything you don't need to, like passwords. We never ask for your passwords to government systems.

Children

SBE Ready is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a significant way, we'll tell you before the change takes effect.
